Lessons
A dressage lesson during a beautiful sunset.
One of Faith & Freedom's main goals is to pass on the knowledge of horsemanship. Lessons are the perfect way to do so! Our instructors are certified and have flexible schedules with safety as their number one concern. Hunter Seat Equitation by George Morris is the guideline for our teaching philosophy. But hunters aren't the only discipline we offer! Custom schedules let you and your instructor plan all sorts of different disciplines to learn. Go ahead and choose to have a dressage lesson this week, a cross country lesson the next, and maybe a "no stirrups" one after that! The way we do lessons here lets you become a better all around rider, gain experience in all sorts of disciplines, and really challenge yourself in order to progress quickly. Lesson horses and tack are ready for use if needed. The horses are older, seasoned schoolmasters willing to be patient for a beginner and take on the challenge of a more advanced rider. Group and private are available. You are expected to come 1/2 hour early in order to tack up your horse and be ready to ride! Prices are as follows:
~1 Hour Group: $30
~1 Hour Private: $40
~1/2 Hour Private: $30
One private lesson is required in order to join in a group so that your instructor can evaluate your riding level and place you in a group accordingly. Private lessons range from 1 to 2 riders. Group lessons range from 3 to 4 riders.

Our lesson horses are older and seasoned, so you have nothing to worry about!

Camps
All-Girls Camps are also offered during warmer months - May through August. One of these camp sessions will be All-Boys. Each camp session is one week long, new sessions starting the first and third Sunday of each month. There will be a total of 8 camp sessions this year. Here is our schedule:
~Session 1: May 4th-10th
~Session 2: May 18th-24th
~Session 3: June 1st-7th
~Session 4: June 15th-21st (All-Boys Camp Session)
~Session 5: July 6th-12th
~Session 6: July 20th-26th
~Session 7: August 3rd-9th
~Session 8: August 17th-23rd
Age limits are 12-16 with at least 2 years of experience in at least one discipline. This is an overnight camp, so the students will be staying in Faith & Freedom's very own "dorm-like" housing. This building is located on the property and is brand new and two stories. The first story includes a lounge(TV, bookshelf, small kitchen, and a phone for calls home whenever desired.) The second story contains 8 rooms - two twin beds each(2 riders each sharing a room), a desk, and wonderful view! Four small bathrooms are right across the hall with a sink, toilet, and shower. While the students aren't riding, educational and fun clinics will be held in the lounge(with equine professionals) covering several topics from conformation to different types of riding styles. Remember, this is a horsemanship camp, so we need to cover lots of details, not just in the saddle! Lots of other "out of the saddle" games and activities are planned as well - this is a hands on, exciting experience! Campers will get up in the morning at 8:00am and lights out are scheduled for 11:00pm or earlier if desired. Everyone will be riding a different horse every day(matched to their riding level) to realize how horses behave, progress, learn, and preform in different ways. Tack is also provided. At the end of the week, the campers will receive a special gift! We will be covering a wide variety of riding styles every day, here is an insight on the schedule:
~Day 1: Intro to the Barn, Basic Rider Position, Trail Ride
~Day 2: Hunter
~Day 3: Jumper
~Day 4: Dressage
~Day 5: Cross Country
~Day 6: You Choose Day!(pick your style of riding to practice!)
~Day 7: Show Time!(fun show with ribbons and awards, parents are welcome!)
Throughout the week we will also be focusing on feeding, grooming, tacking, and the overall proper equine care. Safety is taken just as seriously as in any other circumstances. Campers are asked to bring there own helmet and boots(you may bring shorts, tennis shoes, etc. for activities other than riding). Please take in consideration the unpredictable weather, everything from a warm jacket to tank tops may be needed, depending on the time of year. Certain equipment for the rider will be provided, such as blunt spurs, crops, and safety vest for cross country. If you have any questions on what to bring, please call Faith and Freedom for more info. One camp session will be $420($60 a day). A $20 upfront fee is required when registering. The rest of the payment is due before the camp session begins. Each session can only contain 16 riders, so sign up quickly, spots are already filling up fast! You may sign up as early as 4 months ahead of time.
One last thing:
Horses are 24/7, so as a last expectation, you have to be HORSE CRAZY!
Students get to try out the cross country course too! Be ready to get wet!
